Beer and cheese! Can life get any better? Late last night Emma and I, after nearly pulling our hair out over our case study due Wednesday, went out to eat at Le Vaudoise. This is a good Swiss restaurant in the Towne Centre. I decided since I have been in Switzerland for several weeks it was time to take a dip into the world of fondue. Imagine a bubbling pot of amazing cheese, definitely not Velveeta, that has a rich real cheese taste. My fondue was made with Grueyre and another type of cheese. I drank a large beer(Amstel Light...again disappointed with the beer selection) with it....despite the beer selection I was in nirvana. To continue on my trip to nirvana we shared a mind blowing dish of creme brule.

Alright, enough studying for one day. Time for a cold one: an awesome German Hefe-Weissbeir! This is a bit different from American wheat beers, but it was very very good.

Of course I needed a big beer with all my cheese.

Our meal: Emma had some really awesome veal in a mushroom sauce with fried potatoes and my pot o' cheese.

I only burned my mouth a couple times. The cheese is
(expletive removed) HOT! It was very tasty. They brought out some cherry liquor to put in the cheese-- I thought that was a weird combination. I put some in and it really wasn't very good until the liquor cooked of after several minutes.

Since you don't have a vehicle I trust you are walking off all of that cheese and beer! Am loving your reports. KS
It is true. With all the walking and jogging I've been doing, it has been easy to keep the weight off. For the most part people here are very active. I always seem to see whole families on bicycle rides or walks along the lake. And people in general walk to many places they need to go. Glad you enjoy!

This seems like the one to comment on, so here goes. you are looking good and glad to be back to a computer to see your blog. South Padre was a ball. Sunday was a perfect day for the beach. The water was warm and not to worry-- the waves weren't as strong. Geoffrey loves the BEACH!!
Good post.
