Tuesday in town...

Tuesday Emma and I went to the town center to take care of some things as well as buy some text books. Had a good time and seem to find something new every time I venture out to the town center. A couple random thoughts:

1. Swiss department stores are a maze-- you can't find anything.
2. The incline on the streets is amazing.
3. You almost have to beg to be helped in a store. Emma tried purchasing a cell phone and we ended up leaving one store and in the other store it took about 10-15 minutes to get help.

Here are some pictures:

Notice the McDonald's sign over my right shoulder.

Remember when I described and posted the sign that is causing the turmoil here? I made a mistake on the political group responsible for the add. They are known as the UDC. There was a large march for RESPECT in Lausanne on Tuesday that we got to witness. The sign the people are holding shows the UDC being booted out of Switzerland. My first thought was, "Oh, no-- here is a rally against US foreign policy."

I don't know exactly what I was eating, but I can only describe it as a cheese quiche. The crust was homemade and the cheese filling was fantastic. I love food and different cuisine, so there may be many more posts on food!

Me sitting on my window ledge in my dorm room. The mountains are a bit out of focus, but the view is incredible.
